The Inspiration
A spirit of movement
This apartment takes its inspiration from Lajos Vermes, the Subotica-born sportsman and visionary who believed in the power of movement long before the modern Olympic Games took shape.
At the turn of the twentieth century, Vermes organized international sporting events at Palić and invested his own fortune in creating spaces for cycling, athletics and other sports. His story is one of curiosity, determination and a belief that new ideas could bring people together.
We wanted that same sense of movement to quietly shape this apartment. Its design is contemporary and open, with details that create a feeling of energy without sacrificing calm — a place to slow down after a day of discovering the city.
The apartment is part of the historic Saving Bank Palace, one of Subotica's remarkable Art Nouveau buildings. Built in 1907, the palace reflects the extraordinary period in which the city became a meeting point of architecture, culture, commerce and new ideas.
Here, the history remains part of the experience. You are not simply staying in an apartment in the centre of Subotica — you are staying inside one of the city's architectural stories, reinterpreted for contemporary living.
