The Old Savings Palace
1907
The Old Savings Palace was built in 1907, during a period when Subotica was experiencing a remarkable cultural and architectural transformation. More than a century later, the building remains one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.
Art Nouveau
At the beginning of the 20th century, Art Nouveau challenged the idea that architecture should be purely practical. Inspired by nature, movement, and craftsmanship, the style introduced flowing lines, organic forms, decorative details, and a closer relationship between architecture and art. In Subotica, Art Nouveau became more than an architectural movement — it became part of the city’s identity.
The Architects
The building was designed by Marcell Komor and Dezső Jakab, the Budapest-based architects whose work transformed the architectural identity of Subotica. Their vision can also be seen in some of the city’s most celebrated landmarks, including the City Hall and the Synagogue. Together, they developed a distinctive interpretation of Hungarian Art Nouveau, combining local traditions with modern European influences.
Korzo
The building’s location on Korzo places it at the centre of Subotica’s social life. For generations, this promenade has been a place for walking, meeting, conversations, and observing the rhythm of the city. Cafés, shops, historic buildings, and everyday life have always existed side by side here. Staying at Momentina means being part of that same rhythm — waking up in the centre of a city that reveals itself slowly, one street and one detail at a time.

Momentina Apartments are located at Korzo 4, in the historic Old Savings Palace, right in the heart of Subotica. The city’s most iconic landmarks, cafés, restaurants, museums, and galleries are all just a short walk from your door.

Because the apartments are located in the pedestrian centre, cars cannot access Korzo directly. However, there are several convenient parking options just a few minutes away:

Tip for international guests: If you do not have a Serbian SIM card for SMS parking payment, parking tickets can be purchased at any local kiosk (trafika) or use the coin parking meters on next to Jadran Theatre or at the City Hall.
Arriving by Public Transport
Subotica is well connected by both train and bus, making Momentina easy to reach without a car. From the Main Railway Station, a pleasant walk of less than 10 minutes will bring you through the city towards Korzo 4. The Main Bus Station is also within walking distance, around 15 minutes away, making your arrival simple from wherever your journey begins.
