Movement, Curiosity & the Stories We Bring Home
This loft is inspired by movement, travel, and the idea of discovering new places. Subotica’s own history of exploration and connection to the wider world served as a starting point for the design.
Instead of focusing on a specific theme or period, the apartment reflects the feeling of travel itself — the experience of arriving somewhere new, the sense of curiosity it brings, and the comfort of returning to a space that feels familiar at the end of the day.
A mix of materials, textures, and carefully chosen details gives the apartment a layered character, shaped over time. It is designed as a comfortable base for guests who enjoy exploring the city and experiencing it at their own pace.

The Inspiration
The dream of taking flight
This apartment draws inspiration from Ivan Sarić, one of Subotica’s most fascinating pioneers. A champion cyclist, Sarić was never satisfied with simply mastering what already existed. He designed and built his own aircraft and, in 1910, successfully flew it in Subotica — only a few years after the Wright brothers’ historic flight.
That spirit of curiosity and adventure became the foundation of this loft. Travel, aviation and movement appear through playful details, while leather accents, curved forms and deeper tones give the space a distinctive character.
The result is deliberately different: expressive and slightly bohemian, but still comfortable and considered.
Above it all is the architecture of the Saving Bank Palace, the historic Art Nouveau building that has housed these spaces since 1907. Its ornate character, flowing lines and connection to Subotica’s period of extraordinary cultural and technological development provide a natural backdrop for an apartment inspired by someone who dared to look beyond the ordinary.
